Who we are
YellowDown is an independent website based in India. We build small, focused web tools that help people keep public Snapchat content: single videos with our Snapchat video downloader, and full Stories and Highlights with our Snapchat Story downloader.
We started YellowDown because saving a public clip shouldn't mean screen-recording your phone, sitting through pop-up ads or handing your password to an app you've never heard of. Paste a link, press Download, and you're done.
How our tools work
When you paste a public Snapchat link, our server looks up the media file that Snapchat already serves for that link and sends it to your browser as a download. There's no account to create and no Snapchat login. Videos and photos pass straight through to you and aren't stored on our servers.
What we care about
- Speed. Our pages are deliberately lightweight, with no heavy frameworks, so they load quickly even on slow mobile connections.
- Privacy. We don't ask who you are, and we don't keep the links you paste. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what is and isn't collected.
- Honesty. We only support public content. We will never claim to unlock private snaps, chats or friends-only Stories, because that isn't possible or right.
- Respect for creators. Videos belong to the people who made them. We ask users to download for personal use and we act on valid takedown requests.
Not affiliated with Snapchat
YellowDown is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Snap Inc. "Snapchat" is a trademark of Snap Inc. and is used on this site only to describe the content our tools work with.
